“This is a love story.”
Fleabag by Phoebe Waller-Bridge

Kyle and Danie first met in 2020, but they should have met earlier due to Danie’s sister, Amber, dating his close friend, Gavin. Thankfully, they did not meet in the twenty-tens, because they have both acknowledged it would have been a disaster. You see, for many years Kyle did not believe in love and Danie was a hopeless romantic. While that was still the case when they met again the night before Kyle’s birthday in 2021, age had made them softer and wiser. They greeted each other and did not stop talking until the next day, when they celebrated his birthday together, unaware then that they’d be celebrating their birthdays together for the rest of their lives.

At first Gavin and Amber were understandably wary of the repercussions of this flirtation, but Danie and Kyle surprised everyone, including themselves, by gently challenging each other and growing together. They knew from their time around the block that what they had was a rare thing and should be treated as such.

Kyle proposed to Danie in a cabin in the middle of nowhere Colorado after he finished setting the fire for them to enjoy their morning coffee while overlooking the mountains. They then went on to meet their friends and family in Telluride to celebrate. It was perfect.

This year they welcomed a kitten named Daphne into their new family, who Danie insisted on getting because she was born on her mother’s birthday. It is hard to say who will cave first in regards to a second kitten, so stay tuned.

Nestled in the heart of the Tuscan Maremma, at the base of the hills that mark the horizon between Roccastrada and Castiglione della Pescaia, on the ancient road between Siena and Rome, La Pescaia Resort is a piece of authentic rural patrician history brought back to life, through a conservative restoration very respectful of the genius loci. Elegant example of nineteenth-century Villa-Farm, one of the few remaining in the area, with a past that refers to the family of Pia Tolomei, La Pescaia Resort is a paradise protected by over six thousand ancient olive trees, pristine forests and hidden paths for lovers of walking and horseback riding, an activity that has always been linked to Villa Tolomei.

But if you feel so inclined, you can contribute to our honeymoon fund here.
Do I have a plus one?
Due to the small venue and wanting it to be an intimate weekend with those we are closest with, there are no plus ones. This may change if room opens up, in which case we will let you know.
How do I get to the venue?
Fly into Rome or Florence → rent a car → cruise to La Pescaia (1.5–2.5 hrs). We recommend Rome, the drive is beautiful.
What do I pack for the weekend?
Please see the itinerary for dress codes. Also bring light layers, comfy shoes, swimsuits, sunscreen, some cash, and a plug converter. Weather will be (hopefully) sunny with highs of 70's-80's and lows of 50's-60's.
Why is there a price range for rooms?
Accommodations differ in size and layout, with some being a typical hotel room and some being apartments with multiple bedrooms. All are lovely and luxurious, just not identical, and we want to be fair to our guests who are sharing. Once we receive all final RSVPs, we will be able to configure who goes where and we will send you your room assignment and final cost.
Will I have a room to myself?
La Pescaia is an intimate and boutique with 22 rooms total, each room very comfortably fitting 2 people. Most guests are couples, but for those coming solo, you’ll likely be sharing a room or apartment (don’t worry, there will be two beds).
Can I stay at the venue before or after the wedding?
Our venue is going to let us know the availability early 2026, but likely yes. Please let us know if you are interested.
When do I pay for my room?
After all rooms are assigned and confirmed, we’ll request payment, so after the RSVP deadline.
What’s provided in the rooms?
Hotel-style beds, linens, towels, toiletries, A/C or heat, and plenty of rustic-luxury charm.
What do I do on Saturday before the ceremony?
Swim, explore the grounds, read, play bocce, sip something chilled, or say hi to the animals, but make sure to rest up for the big night!
Where should I go after the wedding?
Everyone is invited to join us on any portion of our honeymoon (with details available here), but for those who want to do your own thing, we recommend Florence, Siena, Rome, or anywhere in Tuscany for a vineyard-filled road trip. If you’re looking to hit the beach, head north to the Italian Riviera or south to the Amalfi coast where we’ll be for the second half of our honeymoon.
Do I need euros?
Bring a little cash for random purchases, tipping (not necessary but nice), or travel days. Cards are widely accepted everywhere else.
Are all meals included?
Yes, with the exception of lunch on Saturday. There is a resort restaurant with great food if you’re interested. Breakfast is included with your room and we’ll be providing dinner each night as well as lunch on Sunday. You are welcome to buy lunch on Saturday at the resort restaurant.
What’s the cell service/Wi-Fi situation?
Good Wi-Fi on the property; cell service varies because, well… ancient stone walls and Tuscan countryside.
Can I bring my kids?
Adults-only weekend of bliss, unless it’s the only way you can come. Then let’s talk.
Do I need a car?
Not at all. Once you’re at La Pescaia, the weekend is walkable and self-contained. A car only matters if you’re extending your trip.
Can I drink the tap water?
Yes, Tuscan tap water is totally safe.
Is there parking?
Yes, free and on-site.
Will Daphne be there?
Only if you want to look after her and bring her back to the US after the wedding. If there’s any takers let us know!
How do I ask something else?
Ping us by text, email, DM - whatever’s easiest. We’re here to help!

Kyle and I will be heading to Torre Di Cala on Monday, June 1st and everyone is invited to join us if they would like! We will be staying there for 3 nights before heading to Rome on June 4th and then Capo La Gala Hotel & Wellness until the 10th.

We also completely understand wanting to head home or going on your own adventure, but let us know if you’re considering coming to our next stop after the wedding weekend!
